The Ant chair originally designed with 3 legs was not immediately popular, it was only later with Jacobsen's more recent 4 legged version (1980) and the subsequent design of the Series 7 butterfly chairs that the immense appreciation for the design was realised.

The revolutionary design had a seat carved out of a single piece of moulded plywood with 4 chromed legs and this reproduction is true to the design. The Ant chair or model 3101 is instantly recognisable as well as aesthetically pleasing.
