This classic, timeless piece of furniture is surprisingly comfortable. Whilst the title might suggest 'Dining' it can be used in many different ways. Suitable not only for casual and formal dining, but also in the lounge, bedroom or conservatory.

History of the DAW Chair

The revolutionary design and materials used in the Eames DAW chair and other Charles and Ray Eames designs (DSR, DSW, DAR and RAR) were immediately recognised with a 1948 winning entry in the New York Museum of Modern art low cost design competition. Although initially produced in fibreglass the Eames DAW series is now more commonly available in bright coloured polypropayene which is far easier to recycle. The ergonomic comfortable seat shell was the first plastic chair to be mass produced.

Construction of the Eames DAW

Based on the classic Eames design of the 1950s ergonimically moulded with arm rests for extra comfort and available in 3 colours. The seat shell made up of the strong ABS plastic which is durable and hard wearing and is supported by maple legs and black rods and as close to the original Eames DAW ArmChair design as possible.
