History of the Eero Saarinen’s Tulip Table

After studying with Charles Eames at Cranbrook Academy of Arts, Saarinen set about experimenting with chairs and tables to remove the “slum of legs” in the home. In 1956 he developed his award winning range of pedestal tables termed the Tulip table for there elegant stem and organic shape.

Materials of the Eero Saarinen Tulip table

The table top and base of this designer table is constructed from premium fibreglass and finished in white. Minimum assembly is required and the base is weighted to provide stability for the 120cm diameter top.
